Classification: Biography
Surnames: Munger, Moore, Griggs,
This book has no cover, and no index, and no author. I bought it on Ebay; it just has the insides, but it is full of Indiana biographies. I am not researching this family, just thought I would share. I do not know anymore about these families or these surnames. NOTE: I don’t know if there is any additional mention of this family in the book, it has no index. I do not want to sell this book. I am typing the biographies from it.

Surnames in this biography are: Munger, Moore, Griggs,

EARL A. MUNGER is one of the prominent young men in the industrial affairs of the City of Muncie. He is president and manager of the Acme Machine Products Company of Muncie and Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born in the neighboring City of Anderson, Indiana, October 12, 1892, son of O. R. and Mary (Moore) Munger. His father, a native of Ohio, attended public school there and for upwards of forty years has followed the tailoring business in Indiana and is still active at Anderson. His wife was born and reared in Ireland and was brought to America when a small child. Of the eleven children of these parents four are deceased, and those living are Mary, Earl, Ruth, George, Joe, Carolyn and Paul. Earl A. Munger grew up at Anderson, attended grade and high school there, and after leaving school went to Detroit, where he had a varied business training and experience, spending one year with the Chalmers Motors Company and then with other industries. In 1917 he put his experience and training to account by organizing the Ampco Twist Drill Company, becoming its president and general manager, and is still one of the large stock holders and a director in the corporation. In 1924 he left his executive post with the Ampco Company to join the Acme Machine Products Company of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and in 1928 moved to Muncie to become general manager of the branch plant in that city. This is an important industry, employing about two hundred persons and manufacturing a widely known line of cap screws, nuts, bolts and other similar products. He is president and a director of this company. Mr. Munger is affiliated with the B. P. 0. Elks and is a member of the Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce. He married at Detroit, Michigan, September 26, 1923, Miss Rosella Griggs, also of Anderson, Indiana, where her parents, Henry and Josephine Griggs, reside. Her father for a number of years has been a locomotive engineer with the Big Four Railway Company. Mrs. Munger attended the grammar and high schools of Anderson. They have two children, Kathleen and Patricia.
