I am looking for information on James William Crockett and family. James went by the name of William. He married Minerva Jane Johnson in Bath County KY on Nov 6, 1901. He had several children: Sallie Mae b. 1903 KY, Mayme Lee b. 1906 KY, Ashton b. 1912 KY, Mattie Ella, Elizabeth, Raymond W., Jenny, and Jason. Before 1920 William and Minerva divorced apparently. Minerva stayed around Owingsville or Preston in Bath County. William took the children to Columbus OH and lived on 271 W. Broad St near Columbus High School. They were living there in 1920. There was a Sarah Crockett who was living there, but I do not know if she was his wife or not. William seems to have married again, possibly more than once. Some of the children may be from other marriages. By 1922, William was remarried and living on 1470 Charles St in Indianapolis, Marion County, IN. I believe all children came to Indiana with him. Sallie married Jewett Snow (my grandparents) and lived in Elwren Monroe County and Morgan County, Mayme married twice ...first to Jimie ? and second to Emmet Snow. Mayme and Emmet lived in Monroe County IN. Mattie married Robert Linizie, Jenny married Authur Walls. I do not know who the rest married but I believe Ashton lived in Johnson County and died in 1984. I believe Mattie lived in Indianapolis. I do not know about the rest but have been told that one of the other sons may have died young. By 1924 Sallie Crockett was living on 409 E. South St. Indianapols. I do not know if all the family was living there or not, but believe so. Sallie and Jewett married on Nov 17, 1925. I lose track of the family upon the death of my grandmother Sallie. She died on April 4, 1940 when my father was 1 year old. Most of her family and her father William attend her funeral. Her mother Minerva attended the funeral, also, still using the name of Crockett. My grandmother collected postcards and pictures prior to her death. The postcards helped me place thier movements. I have pictures of James William Crockett, Minerva Jane Johnson Crockett, Sallie Mae, Ashton, Mattie and family, Mayme, Jenny but do not have any of Elizabeth, Raymond or Jason. I have a picture which includes one of James William Crockett's other wives. My father has many more in his collection. I have not found the exact death of James William Crockett (or many of her siblings). But believe James William Crockett died in Indianapolis sometime between 1840 to 1855 due to his age. Any information on any of these people would be appreciated.
