It has been reported (citing: Counties of Morgan, Monroe and Brown, Indiana, Historical and Biographical, Charles Blanchard, ED. Chicago: F.A. Battey & Co., 1884, p. 654) that Pleasant FOSSETT was born July 13, 1820, a native of Rowan County, NC, and the son of John and Elizabeth (MOSS) FOSSETT. A different source (citing: History of Rawlins Co., KS, Vol. 1, 1988), says that John Smith FOSSETT, born in the 1790s in North Carolina, married Elizabeth MOSS about 1818 and had a son, Smith born c1825 in Monroe Co., IN. Smith married Amanda BLANKENSHIP and had a son Pleasant born March 8, 1862.
In Kent Co., DE, the 1797 will of Smith FARSET mentions the children of his brother Robert, Elizabeth and John Smith FARSET in North Carolina. It appears that these persons are all of the same family. My ancestor, Daniel FARSET, was a brother of Smith and Robert. I would be happy to exchange information.
