Samuel was born May 30, 1875, the son of William and Rebecca Edwards Parks. The father of our subject William Chambers Parks was first married to Rebecca Delilah Edwards, who was born Apr. 14, 1837 the daughter of William C. Edwards. Rebecca bore ten children before her death in 1906. They were: Nancy wife of George Stevens, Mary, SADE WIFE OF ALBERT WILLIAMS, Mattie wife of Sam Dunwoody, Etta wfie of Charles Hughes, Michael, John M. who maried Mary Stevens, William, Samuel our subject. Herald born and died 1904. After Rebecca's death William then married Elizabeth Vonscoyoc and one child was born, Esther born and died 1906. There may have been two more born to this union.
