Travis Downman Corbin was born Abt 1807 in Culpeper County, VA, and died Sep 1884 in Jefferson Twp, Newton, IN. He was buried in Pleasant Grove, Newton, IN. He was the son of Ephraim Corbin and Clarissa Coppage.

Travis Downman Corbin first marriage was to Nancy Mayes born Abt 1810. They married on 20 Jul 1831 in Page County, VA. Nancy might be related to Martin Mayes who purchased land from David Corbin, 30 Jul 1823, Book PP, p 397, Culpeper Co. They had one child: William Franklin Corbin born 2 Apr 1836 in Page County, VA William death is on 28 Feb 1922 in Brook, Newton, IN.

Travis Downman Corbin second marriage was to Susannah Rinehart
Susannah Rinehart was born Abt 1822 in Virginia, and died Abt 1854 in Page County, VA. Susannah Rinehart was known to have been a sister to Gideon.
Gideon had a son Adam, and Susannah named a son Hiram, presumably after Hiram
Rinehart, whose death record in Barbour Co, WV said he was a son of
A & M Rinehart of Page Co, VA.

Andrew Jackson Corbin was born Abt 1841 in Page County, VA, and died Abt 1853 in Page County, VA. Died young unmarried.

Mary Elizabeth Corbin was born Abt 1844, and died Abt 1873 in Jefferson Twp, Newton, IN. She married David E. Sager (born 1840 in OH) on 17 Apr 1865 in Newton Co., IN. He was born Abt 1840 in OH. She died about 1871 or so as no children seem to have been born after Dora F. Son Edgar was with the Wm. Russell family in 1180 but his older bro. Charles J. and younger sister Dora were with David Sager, a new wife, plus a new daughter, Bertha, not a Corbin descendant.

Sarah Jane Corbin was born Abt 1846 in Page County, VA, and died 2 Dec 1914 in Brook, Newton, IN. She married Amos Hybarger 27 Oct 1880 in Newton Co., IN. He was born Abt 1844 in PA. They had 5 children.

Tombstone says "Grandma," so there may be descendants, name says "Sarah.
Jane Hybarger,1846-1914," in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

The Amos Hybarger stone says simply "Co. G., 155 PA Inf." From Wm. J. Corbin, 1962 to EPC 2-3 June.

1880 census, Washington twp., p 4, Jane Corbin, 38, "domestic," living at Z. Splitter farm. She did marry Amos later that year and the five children whose births are listed in Newton Co records are probably all she had. There are no indications that Amos had a prior wife/family


George Washington Corbin was born 1848 in Page County, VA, and died Abt 1915.

John Wesley Corbin was born 18 Apr 1850 in Page County, VA, and died 22 Mar 1932 in Brook, Newton, IN. He married Leah Elizabeth Martin 20 Jul 1873 in Newton Co., IN. She was born 4 Nov 1857 in Newton Co., IN, and died 1940 in Watseka, Iroguois, IN.

Hiram Emanuel Corbin was born 28 May 1852 in Page County, VA, and died 14 Oct 1914 in Garrett, Ellis, TX. He married Evelyn Elmetta Winterrowd 19 Oct 1875 in Ellis, TX. She was born 27 Dec 1857 in Shelby, IN, and died 29 Jan 1901 in Garrett, Ellis, TX. They had 10 Childern: Mary Grace Corbin, Robert Elmer Corbin, Laura Alma Corbin, Dora Jane Corbin, John Washington, Mrya Corbin, Marvin Kirkwood, Mabel Corbin, Myron Corbin and Katie Corbin
