I am trying to locate ancestors and descendants of Edward Cadwell
Edward Cadwell and his wife, Sarah lived in Noble County from 1844 until at least 1860. Edward was a Justice of the Peace of Swan township for 12 years and was postmaster of Swan Township in 1856 and 1858. The oldest son, Richard Cadwell, born in about 1837, married an "Amelia" and had at least two children (possibly twins), Clyde and Clara Cadwell born in about 1868.
Daughter Harriett (Hattie) Cadwell, born in about 1843, married Ezra W. DePew on February 12, 1863 and lived in Wolflake for many years, is buried there along with her husband and several children. DePew children that survived infancy are Florencia (Flora) DePew, born about 1864 and who married an Albert Williams; Leonora (Nora) DePew, born about 1866 who married a Dr. David Strickland of Cleburne, Texas; Orvis DePew, born November 07, 1868 who studied law and died at the age of 28 (no information as to marriage or children); sons Clarence and Heber DePew, who both attended Hillsdale College where Clarence also taught for a while; and Hutoka DePew, the youngest, on which no other information has been found. Most of this information is available in Alvord's History of Noble County.
Daughter Cynthia C. Cadwell married a George Jones Lamkin or Lamkins on March 28, 1865. They had at least two children: daughter Lois Lamkin(s), born about 1866 and son Earl Lamkin(s), born about 1868.
Richard Cadwell, Ezra DePew, and George Lamkin all were resident in Noble County at the time of the 1870 census. Edward and Sarah Cadwell, who resided there at the time of the 1860 census, are not shown in the 1870 census.
Any information available on any of the individuals mentioned here would be appreciated.
