Jim" Gillespie Found Guilty by the
Jury After a Deliberation of But
a Few Hours—Penitentiary
Rising Sun Indiana Jan 6- The Murder of Elizabeth Gillespie
has been avenged. Her twin brother, James Gillespie was last night convicted of murder in the first degree and his punishment fixed at imprisonment in the penitentiary for LIFE. The Jury was only out three hours and their Verdict was reached after but two ballots. Tobert was elected foreman. The First Ballot was as to the Guilt or Innocence of the accused and the 12 men voted that he was guilty. The grade of punishment took another ballot. Two men, Robert See, the Foreman. And Oliver McHenry were for hanging but the other ten won them over.
