I recently was looking for information on Henry Miller who was one of Ohio County's richest citizens. I am only peripherally related to the family, but was astonished at how little information was out on the net for this prominent family. I did manage to amass quite a bit and decided to post it to this forum. Everything here is from various internet sources, so beware possible mistakes. Does anyone know anything further of Henry's ancestry in Pennsylvania and before?

1. Henry C. Miller, b. 15 December 1809 in Beaver County, PA, d. 22 June 1889 in Aurora, IN

(Note: Henry Miller's home was the big porticoed mansion on Old Route 56 by Laughery Creek which was in my youth called Tomary Farm)

Stark Family Facts (written by Luella Radspinner)
Elijah Stark, my paternal grandfather was born in Bourbon Co., Kentucky July 4, 1811.
He was educated in the old college in Lexington, Kentucky.
In 1832 grandfather and William Bailey rode on horseback from Lexington, Kentucky
to Jeffersonville, Indiana, where the General Land Office was located, obtained a land
    grant
each, then rode to Ripley Co., and grandfather entered a 160 acres of land 3 1/1 miles
east of Versailles afterward known as the "Dickey" farm, where Clark Henderson now
    lives.
On this land he built a log house. He and Mr. Bailey made several trips down the Ohio
and Mississippi rivers in flat boats. He made the last trip about 1835 with Mr. Henry
    Miller of Ohio, Co.
Uncle Henry Miller came back and lived many years on the banks of Laughery Creek
on the pike between Aurora, Indiana and Rising Sun, Indiana and about all the
    inhabitants of
that township are relatives of Henry Miller.

Also in same article: In 1834, Elijah (Stark) and Henry Miller
went to Natchez, Mississippi with a flatboat load of produce.

(note: Jennie and Co (Cora) Miller were spinster sisters who lived in the big wood frame porticoed mansion that stands on the Hartford Pike between Hartford and Milton. In my youth I visited them with my mother and grandmother. In those days the house had deteriorated badly, but was astonishingly beautiful inside nevertheless. My uncles told stories of the time they were coon hunting on the hill behind their house at night and one of the sisters shot at them with a shotgun. The house was inherited by Lawrence Elliott who did a first-rate job of restoring it to it's former glory.)

OBITUARY: From the Aurora Bulletin, Aurora, Indiana, March 21, 1913:
MARION MILLER--prominent Citizen of Ohio answers call.
Francis Marion Miller, son of Henry and catherine McGuire Miller was born
    Oct
11, 1843 on the farm where he spent his entire life, died March 12, 1913,
    aged
     69 years, 5 months and 1 day.
He was married to Elizabeth Fincham December 21, 1865 at Towanda, Illinois
    with
whom he lived most happily until his death. To this union were born 4
children. He united with the M.E. Church at Hartford during a meeting
    conducted
by the Rev. George Newman, a class leader and local preacher, and often
    spoke
to him and told of the good meetings he had conducted. That good man
    "thought
dead yet speaketh" and the scripture is fulfilled which says, "They rest from
their labors and their works to follow them." Marion Miller was a man whose
friendship would stand the test and no one ever appealed to him when in
    trouble
that he did not extend to them a helping hand.
He was a kind and loving husband and father, a dutiful son to his parents
    whom
he greatly honored, kind to his brothers and sisters and one among the best
    of
     neighbors.
His greatest enjoyment was in the society of his family and friends. He was a
man of unbounded hospitality and all who visited at his home received a
cordial welcome. During the Civil War he went at his country's call, enlisted
in the 83rd regiment Company B where he served 3 years. He enjoyed
    meeting his
old comrades and talking over the joys and sorrows of army life. He served 3
terms as trustee of Union Township, 2 terms as county commissioner, and was
twice elected to the Legislature. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge
at Hartford 47 years and loved the order.
When his illness took a decided change for the worse, he seemed to fully
realize his condition and talked as calmly of death as if he was just going on
a short journey and while he was loathe to leave his loved ones, he expressed a
willingness to submit to the will of God and peacefully he entered the valley
trusting to Christ, who had promised to go with him to the end.
He leaves a wife and 2 daughters; Mrs. Nettie Heath and Mrs. Minnie Smiley &
one son, Benjamin, 1 child, Elizabeth, having departed this life at the age of
7 years. Six grandchildren, 2 brothers; William and Clay; 1 sister, Mrs.
Elizabeth Wade, and a host of other relatives and friends.
