Charles Nelson Henson was the illegitmate child of Allen Henson and Elizabeth Creech. He was born while Allen was married to Nancy. Elizabeth was married off to an older man, and Charles was raised as Allen and Nancy's son. My dad said that Charles, his grandfather, told him he was a bastard. After Nancy's death Allen married Elizabeth, as requested by Nancy, so Elizabeth would receive his Civil War pension. Allen and Elizabeth then had a daughter, Grace.
She would have been Charles' only full-blooded sibling. Allen, Nancy, Elizabeth and Grace are all buried together in Franklin Cemetery, Paris, Illinois
