Donald E. "Pick" Nield, 75, Quincy, died Monday.
He was a truck driver for Consolidated Forwarding and Trans-Con Trucking Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1979.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving 1946-48.
He was a member of American Legion Post 281, Cloverdale; Moose Lodge 1592, Greencastle, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol (Bland) Nield.
Survivors include eight children, April, Gary, Jeff, Kevin and Chris Nield, Terry Bland and Rick and Marty Portman; a brother, Jack Morris; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Conkle Funeral Home, Speedway Chapel. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
Visitation is set for 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Paul E. Poorman
Paul E. Poorman, 70, of Spencer, passed away May 15, 2004 at his residence.
Born Nov. 1, 1933, he was the son of Earl and Mary (Woodburn) Poorman. He married Emma (Campbell) Poorman, who preceded him in death Jan. 24, 2001.
He was a policeman with the Owen County Sheriff's Department, and the Spencer Police Department in the 1970s. He retired from Plainfield Juvenile Correctional Facility in 1985. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Cuba Baptist Church and a member of FOP of Linton.
Survivors include two daughters, Paula Avery and her husband Tim and Barbara Sheese and her husband David, both of Spencer; one son, Steven Poorman of Spencer; two brothers, Earl Poorman, Jr., and John Poorman, both of Ravenswood, W.Va.; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Emma and a sister, Fern Gregory.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Friday at West-Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home of Spencer.
Friends may call from noon - 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
