Hello,
I think you would be better served to look at the Knox Co., IN census for 1820 to find individuals who resided in the Putnam County area.
A look at Ancestry.com's listing for the 1820 census does not find a "Wabash County."
"A Journey Through Putnam County History," Putnam County Sesquicentennial Committee, 1966, page 11 states "Putnam County was evidently first a part of Knox County, which was formed from the Northwest Territory."
