So far as I can research, Celia Hill was the granddaughter of Benjamin Wright and Barbara Morgan. Her husband William Fox was the great grandson of the same couple. I think that makes them first cousins, once removed.
From an undated IOWEGIAN newspaper article "Gives History of Early Settlers in This County," which was based on information supplied by Mrs. Osee Johnson-Knouf, a family historian:
"Celia Hill, born 1825 on August 26th, was married November 7, 1843, to William Fox in Greencastle, Indiana. They moved to Appanoose county in 1850 and lived for a short time on what is now the Hoover farm southeast of Numa. They then bought the homestead just east of Numa (then Bellair), and accumulated considerable land there. A son by a second marriage, Henry Fox, still lives on the old homestead. The HISTORY OF APPANOOSE COUNTY of 1878 says that Wm. Fox and his wife helped found the Methodist Church at Bellair."
The U.S. Federal Census Mortality Schedules,1880, for Bellair Township in Appanoose County show that Selia Fox, 54, born in Indiana of parents from North Carolina, died in April of 1880 of "Ulceration of Bowels."
Celia was buried in the Motto/Cooley Cemetery, south of Numa. William married again, this timne to Mary Emelda Litsey. William had nine children by his two wives. He was buried in the Motto/Cooley Cemetery.
