Not related, just trying to help. Thomas J Reeeves married Sarah Robinson in Putnam county on 9-21-1848. In the 1850 census for Putnam County, Marion township, page 1, the family was headed by Thomas J Reeves, 25, farmer, born in Ky and included Sarah S, 21, Ind and John S, 1, Ind. In the 1860 census the family was in the same township, page 30 & 31, and was headed by Thomas Reeves, 32, farmer, and included Sarah, 30, - John S, 10, - Amanda, 8, - Abbot M, 5, and Mary, 3, all born in Ind. Something appears to have happened to Sarah between 1860 and 1870. In the 1870 census the family is in Illinois, Montgomery county, Hillsboro township, page 78, and is headed by Thomas Reeves, 45, works in wood factory, has real estate worth $1000 and personal estate worth $500, born in Ind, and included Louisa, 34, keepinghouse, has personal estate worth $1000, born NY, - Amanda, 18, Ind, - Abbott, 15, Ind, - Mary, 12, Ind, - William, 5, Ill, and George, 1, Ill. Also included were the following children, all named Horton (Louisa's children by previous marriage?), Eva, 12, Ill, - Agnes, 10, NY, and Elizabeth, 7, NY. Hope this helps. Don

Elizabeth (Patsey) Rollins was the d/o John Rollins and Ann Owens who were married 28 Aug 1788 in Randolph Co NC. Elizabeth was a sister of my great great great grandfather, Elias Rollins. Elizabeth & John had 12 children. Some of the children spelled their last name NICKLESS as noted in Indiana records. The last 6 children were born in Bogard Twp, Daviess Co IN. Thanks for sharing the information you posted!
hello,

We need more information to help you. Approx birth date or when he died? A good place to look is where your grandmother died. Check the census material for that area, that is always a good place to start. Also, asking living relatives might get you some information that you didn't have before. What was your grandmothers name, the more information you give, the easier to help.

Rene'
board administrator

Never did any embassy work but sounds interesting.

Please send a working email address and I will gladly send you information and photo scans of Oscar's grave and of the memorial. If you are able to reach the family please present them yourself but please notify us so we can also have a contact.
I read the book in a library in Indiana and at Salt Lake City.
You can also go to http://books.google.com
enter Biographical and Historical Record of Putnam County under Search Books
click on Biographical and historical record of Putnam County by Mike Marler, Lewis Publishing Company
on the left side of the page click on Find in a Library
You'll get a list of 35 libraries that have the book. If you don't live near one of the libraries, I'd recommend going to your local library and submitting an interlibrary loan request to have photocopies sent of the Buis biographies. I know there was one on p. 472 and another on p. 500
I will look up everything I have and send it to you. I did not know about that cemetary so I may drive over there in September to take a look at it. I live outside Chicago so it isn't too far. His second wife was Emma or Emmaline Staggs the daughter of James Franklin Staggs. Their children were Lee Roy, Phillip Clayton "Clay", Frank (married Opal) and Ray (who at one time lived in Indianapolis), then there was a daughter Jessie M. who married Fred Koessler and two daughters Nellie and Mary who died very young. All of these people have passed on. Am trying to find out who James Allgood's parents were and correspond with any descendants of this family. Jim

My great great aunt, Nancy jane's granddaughter, lived to be 98. She told me that his name was Birtie Hurst. Nancy's obit says Burgie. I can see it being a Burton "Burtie" Hurst. I found a Burton Hurst in the Iowa census records (several years) and he is married to a Nancy J. Both are from Indiana and his wife has simularities to my Nancy Dobbs Bird. However, I have my Nancy is the same census years in other locations and none of the children match so.... the hunt continues. I live in Indiana and can drive to Putnam County in a little over an hour. I would like to get down there to check for a divorce record.
They must have divorced between 1863 and 1867, when she married Samuel J. Bird. I haven't done a lot of work on the Hurst line.

Yes, Hi cousin!,
I really wanted to stay and chat a bit, but I had to go to work.
I'm glad you mentioned that Phebe's grandfather was Squire Boone, Daniels brother. With all the Squire's, Daniel's, and Phebe's somtimes it boggles the mind!

I know in Weaks history of Putnam Co., in a Bio of George Rissler, it states Susan Boone is the sister of "the noted Daniel Boone" and that William's sister, Phebe married Daniels brother Squire. This info had me confused for awhile!

Then earlier today on the net I found an article from the Greencastle Banner, dated 13 Jul 2009,titled "Boone Hutcheson cemetery to make major addition" and it reads in part, "Among the members of the Daniel Boone family, possible including his sister and sister in law. Numerous other Boone descendants are buried in the cemetery."

"Three of Squire Boone's (Daniel's Brother) children are buried here. Not everyone agrees that Phoebe Rissler Boone (Squire's wife) is buried in the cemetery."

"Three of her children, Matilda, Irv, and Melmoth are all buried in Boone Hutcheson. Some records show the stone with Phoebe's name was erected by her family when she and squire left Putnam Co. in 1852 for Iowa."
I think the stone they are talking about is the one I have saved under Susan Boone, which still has me confused! Do you know which one I mean?

I guess I just want to make sure I have the correct information.
Your Phoebe and my George's parents were William Rissler and Susan Boone. Susan's parents were Moses and Hannah Boone. and Moses's parents were Squire Boone Jr. and Jane Van Cleve, and this Squire is the brother of Daniel.

Moses Boone, father of Susan, also had a son named Squire and He married Phoebe Rissler. And he also had a son named Daniel A Boone.

Does this all sound correct?
Sorry for rambling on, I've been at this only 3 months, and believe i've become addicted!

Kristine
I have a Sarah Darting who married James Boswell in 1843. Is that who you are looking for? I don't show any of them as marrying a Gardner but I have no spouses for any of them. I show her as having 6 daughters. I am married to a Darting.

Hi, I would like to compare notes on your Kelso tree.

Ive hit a Dead end on everything before Stephen Kelso born july 2 1834. I have conflicting stories of his dad being John Kelso married to an Elizebeth (no last name).

Stephen had a son named William John Kelso born 1861. and its easy from there forward to trace it to my dad Thomas lee Kelso Sr.

He married Nancy Ann Cunningham in Bourton County, KY in 1816. gGreatfather Hiram Rollings was born in Putham County, IN and relocated to Clark County, IA after serving in the 10th Indians Voluntary Battery. My part of the Rollings Family has been located in IA every since.

I'm also searching for info on the Rollings name, so any info you can share would be very helkpful.

Marv Rollings

I can't find Lydia after the 1820 census, I think she may have died young. Isaac married a second time to Nancy Ann Martin, 14 April 1846 in Green twp., Scotland county, Missouri. Isaac has a son named John born 1843, Van Buren county, Iowa. I think this is Lydia's son and that she must have died in Van Buren, county, Iowa. Isaac had 5 more children by Nancy.

Info Missing In My Family Tree

I'm looking for information on Elsie Mae Parsons. She married a Mowery and then later a Norman. I have a Elsie Mae Norman and a Wesley H Norman buried in Williamette National Cemetery not knowing if this is the right people. So I'm looking for any info for her and her husbands and any of there children.

Second I have a Mary Parsons born to Jacob Brummel Parsons and Elizabeth Curry Pruitt. The only info I have is that she was born in 1851, but Jacob and Elizabeth didn't get married til 1864.

So any info on any of these would be greatly appreciated.

Jayson

Hi William,
Sorry I took so long to answer. As to Mary "E" Mc Ginnis,
My mother got this info from my grandmother many years ago.
They are both deceased now. My grandmother was born in 1880 and died in 1970 (age 90). You say that Mary was shown as being 3 years old in 1950 census. I guess that means she was 15 years old when she married. Thanks for the correction.

I also wanted to say that her mothers maiden name was Bradshaw.

Thanks for the info.

Bett
