The Reverand Joshua Palmer was not from England. The confusion came from there being three Joshua Palmers in SC, all ministers. (see Jansen sister's notes on line). He was born on 12 Mar 1746, Amelia Co, Virginia, died 5 Dec 1835 in Union County, SC. He led his congregation, which included the Stiles, Glidewells families to Indiana. After the death of his wife he returned to SC. His son, Joshua, b. 1784 in SC, d. 1846 Haw Creek, Bartholemew, Indiana. His son, Elihu, my great-grandfather was born in SC, died in Sullivan Co, Linn, Missouri. He married Amy Armstrong, daughter of Rebecca Stiles and James Armstrong. Grave sites are there along with Fannie Stiles and other family members, including your Joshua, who died 12 Nov 1895 in Sullivan Co, Missouri and his wife.
