The Smith Family at Clear Lake
Three brothers, one the brother of Charles D. Smith, and his brother from Ohio, Ira Smith, father of Ira Smith Jr. and his sister. Then George Adam Smith and Peter Smith, these were the nucleus of the Smith Family that was to emerge, and the Mormon Church. The others were the Housmans,Teeters,Emericks, Baileys, Storeys and McElhenies
Mormon Church; The building was moved from the Ray Cemetery site to south Clear Lake about 1880.
Descendants of the early Fathers and new Converts continue to worship at the South Clear Lake Church, the sanctuary is located 4 1/2 miles east of Fremont In. on the Old Vistula Road.
