Thomas L. Smith died 24 June 1926 at 31 years of age in the "US National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers" in Dayton, Ohio. He died of pulmonary tuberculosis. Admitted 26 January 1926. Body shipped to his wife, Opal in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Military: Enlisted 29 Mar 1917 at Fort Thomas, KY as a private Co E 28th Regt INF. Discharged: 9 August 1918 at Fort McHenry, Maryland on a disability.

His death certificate says he died 4 June 1926 at 11:15 P.M. so I guess we need to find a grave stone for him to get a definite date. . . 4 June or 24 June
