My gggrandfather was Richard Neal, born circa 1813 in KY. In 1867 he was sent to IN State Prison from Warrick Co. for grand larceny. His wife, Charlotte, resided in Yankeetown during his incarceration. He does not appear in any Warrick Co. census nor can I find any evidence that he ever resided here. The few records I can find of him are from Henderson Co., KY or Spencer Co., IN. I have no maiden name for Charlotte. My question: Would anyone know what his exact crime was; why was he sent to prison from this county; did he or Charlotte have relatives here? After his release from prison, I see no indication that he returned to this county or see no further records of Charlotte. The next time he appears is in the 1880 Henderson Co., KY census.
