The Walsh family I'm familiar with is: John Walsh married Elizabeth Mc Dermott in Perth Co Stratford,Ontario.Terence Mc Dermott had immigrated from Ireland about 1837.He married Mary Herron,Elizabeth was one of their children.
The Mc Dermott,Walsh,Herron,and Payton families all immigrated to the US between 1865-1870.Many reside in the state of Iowa to this day.

Last Friday a son of George Gramlich on Lansing Ridge sought to shoot or capture a squirrel jumping around the trees near the Gramlich residence. He shot the squirrel which lodged in a crotch in the tree. He climbed up into the tree to extricate the animal and while in the act came in contact with the electric wire running through the tree, resulting in his death, one of his feet being burned to a crisp. Charles Robert Gramlich was about 15 years of age.

Have you already tried to locate obituaries and wills/probate records for Daniel & Sarah CURTIN (and/or any of Catherine's siblings), to investigate whether these documents make reference to Margaret?

The Redviking tree is one of two trees I manage at Ancestry.com. I stubbled onto this tree thinking it only had a handful of my relatives.

I have not checked the accuracy of this tree.

This tree seems to be groups of families connected to other unrelated families by geography.

This tree was posted by emorgan71@houston.rr.com. Please add comments to the persons on the Redviking tree. Even if your information contradicts the information on it.

Of the German families I am descended from only 4 of them are on this tree, Bonorden, Flachmann, Gramunder (Gromander) and Zirjacks [all may be from Westphalia in Germany] families of Central, Texas.

The only Norwegian family on this tree that I am descended from is Volding (Voldeng).

Have not found obits or wills or probate records. No info on Margaret, no birth certificates or baptismal information. All I do know is that a Margaret Butler born the same month and year is found living with James Butler and his 2nd wife in Shelby County, Indiana in the 1900 Federal Census. I am not sure this child Margaret, being under a year of age when her mother died, even knew she was born in Iowa, and the 1900 Federal Census says that she was born in Indiana and that her mother was Mary Beaty Butler. I also noticed that John Butler's wife is named Elizabeth in the 1880 Federal Census. That is somewhat confusing as his wife in the 1860 and the 1870 census goes by the name of Margaret Butler. Her maiden name was Buckley. Not real sure why Elizabeth pops up all of a sudden, unless Margaret died and this Elizabeth is a new wife. Margaret and John had a daughter also named Margaret, so maybe Margaret the mother started using her middle name, which might have been Elizabeth. Another problem!

Looking for info on Margaret Butler. In the 1900 US Census she is listed as the daughter of James Butler and Mary Beaty Butler. Listed as being born in Indiana, but that is not correct. She was born in Allamakee County, Iowa (West Ridge-Waukon) in April, 1883. James was married to a Catherine Curtin from Iowa for a little over two years and she died December 13, 1883 after the birth on Margaret. James left Iowa and re-married a Mary Beaty from Richmond, Indiana area. James and Mary's 2 children (John Clare and Pearl C.) were born in Richmond, later moved to Shelby County, Indiana and finally to Indianapolis. Margaret we think left home from Addison Township, and possible went West. Possibly into Western Canada,but not sure. I am trying to make a positive connection of two things. 1.That James Butler who I know for sure his middle name is "Joseph" is the same James Butler from Waukon, Iowa, and 2. that Catherine Curtin had a child named Margaret during the little over two years she was married to James Butler in West Ridge, Iowa.
