Surnames: Slavin, Slaven, Mallen
My Irish immigrant ancestors were in the area of Washington township and Perry township, near Independence, IA for the 1860 and 1870 censuses.
Can anyone tell me the name of the Catholic church they could have attended in these years, and whether the parish records have survived? Has anyone had success in finding similar information?
