Classification: Query
Surnames: Surnames: McAndrew, Fuery, Fisher
Farmer Michael McAndrew and 1st wife Honora Fuery were from 1830-40s North Mayo County, Ireland, but likely married abt. 1858 in America. They are in 1870 McGregor as Stone Mason with 1st 4 children, all Iowa born.
It is apparent from the 1880 Census that my g-g-aunt Honora Fuery McAndrew 40 died that year. This left Farmer Michael 54, with children Terance 18, Kathe 13, Richard 11, Winnie 9, Michael 7, Magreth 1, in care of eldest daughter Mary 22 & her husband Joseph Fisher 26.
By 1885 State Census, Widowed Michael 60, remarried to Mary 55, with just Michael 12 and Margarett 5 still home. Also is a Julie Glennon 44 Single, b. Ireland. Then easy connections all disappear, so they likely moved around.
I would like to know more on family and decendants; perhaps Obituaries or Catholic Church Records. Have not gotten beyond Census mentions on Iowa GenWeb Clayton Co. Will happpily exchange for Ireland Fuery-McAndrew information.
Thanks for any McAndrew family clues, M. M. M.
