Alvah LAIN of Edgewood, IA
I'm looking for information about my great-great grandfather, Alvah LAIN (1836-1886). I know he settled in Edgewood, IA and is buried in the Edgewood Cemetery (I found his grave there recently).
Alvah and his wife had four children:
Ernest, a newspaper man in Okarche, OK
Harvie, a banker in Davenport, IA
Worthy, a cabinet maker in Green Bay, WI.
Mrs Ed Gorham (Cora?) of Princeton, IA
(This list is from Worthy's obituary)
According to some sketchy notes I have, Alvah married a Nettie QUINN, probably from Edgewood, IA. His tombstone, however, has the name 'Emily T. 1839-1923' incribed on the side of it. Who was his wife, really?
