Can anyone help me with info on the McNicholl family who lived in Danville, Des Moines, Iowa in 1880 census. Specifically looking for more info on my great-great grandfather John B. McNicholl who was married to Emma unknown and had 2 daughters: Ellen C. McNicholl born about 1877 and Mary McNicholl born 1879. I can locate them on the census but wondering what happened to this wife and 2 children. Because in 1893 he was remarried and living in California. Can anyone help me with these lost relatives?
