My whitsel family used only 1 L at end of name. They were descendents of Daniel Whitsel who came to Eddyville from Ohio. I did find that William P. Brodrick is buried at Highland Cemetery, Harrison twnshp-Eddyville.His DOB was Apr 27, 1829 and DOD was Feb. 28 1911. It said he was in Co F 18th Infantry of Iowa. If you could get a death certificate for Joanna, it may tell the name of her parents. I got one for my great grandfather who died in 1908 in Monroe Co. Iowa and it is listed on back of death certificate who his parents were. JoAnn Vestal
