The Kingen family I am researching is James and Christina. They are listed in the Decatur Co. 1860 census as follows:
James Kingen, 33
Christina Kingen, 24
Sarah Kingen, 8
William Kingen, 6
Anne E. Kingen, 3
Mary E. Kingen, 3
John W. Kingen, 1
(Mary E. should be Mary Jane)
In the Mahaska Co. 1870 census (Des Moines Township) the children (Wm., Anne, Mary, John & George) are listed with their mother Christina (age 35) and J. Wiess or Wiers (age 24). Christina must have remarried, I don't know if James died or they divorced. (Sarah married G. W. Secrist in Nov. 1868)
