Hi my name is Brian and I may be related to your John Gegner. I am related to the Gegner's of Baltimore, Md. I have information showing a John or a John Henry or just Henry as is on my Great Grandfather's death cert. as being married to a Atta C Cromer. They only had one child George W. Gegner 1886-1944.
Does any of this fit? I show John Gegner as being 3 years old in the 1860 census in Baltimore, Md. He did have a sister named Margaret. I wonder if we may be talking about the same branch.
