Funeral Mass for Marie C. Webb, 97, Lawton, will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church with the Rev. Kirk Larkin, pastor, officiating.
A wake service will be at 6 p.m. Monday at Becker Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Webb died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at her home.
Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in Calvary Cemetery, Tulsa.
She was born July 15, 1911, in Emmetsburg, Iowa, to Ellen E. McNally and Harry D. Clark. She spent her preschool years in Cuba, where her parents performed in circuses. After graduating from Independence High School, Independence, Kan., in 1929 and secretarial school, she worked for Gulf Oil Corporation in Tulsa. She married George Clifton "Cliff" Webb on Feb. 14, 1931, in Tulsa, where they lived until moving to Lawton in 1951. She assisted her husband in his life insurance business for many years. They assisted in the formation of the Lawton Philharmonic Orchestra. She was recognized as a life member of the Lawton Philharmonic Society for her role as an original founder, organizer, supporter and longtime treasurer of the Philharmonic Women's Association. She was a member of Southwest Oklahoma Opera Guild, Sons of Italy and Four Seasons Dance Club. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic church and a charter parishioner of St.Barbara's and Holy Family Catholic Churches, Lawton.
Survivors include a brother, Kenneth R. Clark, Studio City, Calif.; grandchildren: Elizabeth M. Sowder, Eric L. and Robin Sowder and Aaron D. Sowder, all of Cromwell; a son-in-law, Larry D. Sowder, Cromwell; seven nephews; seven nieces including special niece Joan Cipriano, Camp Verde, Ariz.; extended family and caregivers: Donald and Terrie Kraft and their children and spouses: Mark, Donny and Veronica, Stephanie and Dan, all of Lawton; and a special friend, Patty Dawes.
She was preceded in death by two daughters: Jill M. Sowder and Janet M. Webb; her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Merrill and Maxine Clark; a sister and brother-in-law , Helene and Leonard Siebrand; and a sister, Wilma Jean Elsey.
