Evans & Ellis - Kickapoo area 1850's & 1860

Classification: Query
Surnames: EVANS, ELLIS
Looking for info on Enoch Evans and family, plus John Ellis and family. Both were in Kickapoo in the 1854 voter's list, the 1860 Federal census and the 1860 Kansas Settlers list.

Enoch's daughter, Mary Ann Evans and John Ellis' son, John Caldwell Ellis were married in Jackson County, MO in Nov. 1871.

I can find neither family in the 1870 Federal census. I don't find them on Civil War rosters, muster rolls, draft lists, pension lists or anything along those lines.

I have most all info (except Mary Ann's date/place of death/burial) for Mary Ann & John forward to present, but would really like to know what happened to the families before 1871.

Thanks for ANY help, clue, scrap of info.
