From the Lincoln (KS) Republican, March 4, 1909, page 7:

Mary E. Rhoads was born January 21, 1866, at Fortwain, Indiana. She departed this life February 27, 1909 at her home in Lincoln county Kansas, age 43 years, 1 month and 6 days. She was united in marriage to J. B. Workman July 1, 1883 to which union 6 children were born, one dying in infancy. Leaving a husband and five children to mourn her loss. Mrs. Workman united with the M. E. church 14 years ago and was a member of the same when death claimed her. She was a good mother a loving wife and a respected neighbor and was loved by all who knew her. The funeral services were conducted at the home by Frank Lathrop, pastor of the Free Methodist church of Lincoln. Text used Rev. 22:17.
