Back about 1980, I was working for an electrical contractor in the area of I believe Linn Co, KS somewhere in a rural area I believe NW of La Cygne KS, where we found like a city block of cabins or houses along a dead end road along a river, perhaps the Maris des Cygnes River.

Am I dreaming or do I really remember such a place. If it existed could someone please tell me where it was at / does it still exist and the history?

As a young man back then I had dreams of someday living along a river like that.
