This is available for all Kansas newspapers. If you have a public library nearby that has a microfilm reader & does Inter-Library Loan (ILL), or an LDS Family History Center (FHC), you can go to the Kansas State Historical Society's (KSHS) Website at
http://www.kshs.org/, on the bar click on Research, near the center of the Research page, under Genealogy, click on Newspapers, fill in the blanks (ex: Pleasanton, Linn (county) & 1887-1887 & Search. This will bring up two newspapers from Pleasanton during Apr 1887. Write down the repository, Kansas Historical Society, Topeka, KS, the microfilm roll numbers, in this case, P736 & P754. Take that information to your local library or FHC & ask them to order the films for you through ILL. When they receive the films, you will have several weeks to view & research the films at your library before they have to be returned to KSHS & before you can order more films. There is no charge from KSHS but there may be a slight mailing fee at your local library. There is a mailing fee at FHCs. I also keyed in Mound City & was surprised they had newspapers there as well - microfilm roll numbers M924, M933 & M956. And in Blue Mound, microfilm roll number B68. I know you can't get all the rolls at one time so you'll have to do repeat orders.
Warning: The old newspapers are so much fun to read, you may find yourself spending a lot of time reading stuff you don't need!
Good luck.
