Mrs. Ed Kirby was Burried Friday
Funeral service for Mrs. Ed Kirby was held Friday afternoon in the Baptist church with the Rev. Harry Burden in charge. Interment was in the Canton cemetery.
Martha Elizabeth Ann Rogers was born in Roxbury on June 9, 1880 and died at her home near Canton on May 21, at the age of 59 years, 11 months and 11 days. She lived with her parents on a farm near Roxbury until 1903, when she was married to Eddie L. Kirby on June 17. To this union were born ten children, two daughters having died in infancy.
She is survived by her husband, E. L. Kirby; four daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Hart of Liberal, Mrs. Ted Janke of Lehigh, Mrs. Chris Hoffman of McPherson and Bessie at home; four sons, Ben Kirby of Blackduck, Minn., Arthur Kirby of Roxbury, John Kirby and James Kirby of McPherson; and ten grandchildren. She also leaves three brothers, Will Rogers of Roxbury, Henry Rogers of Tescott, Bert Rogers of Ramona; one sister, Mrs. Sam Bacon of Canton; one half brother, Sam Rogers of Alvin; and one half sister, Mrs Matt Jones of Clemenceau, Ariz.
