Alvin Elmer VanDruff, 1112 Wreath, died Tuesday, Sept. 28 at St. Mary Hospital at the age of 78.

He was born June 6, 1903, in the Broughton Community, Clay County, Kan.

He was a retired routeman for the Griffith Oil Company, and was a member of Manhattan's First United Methodist Church. He was married to Hazel Hoaglund Nov. 9, 1945. She preceded him in death on April 4, 1955.

Survivors include a son; Robert VanDruff, Topeka; a daughter, Karen Sue Brown, Blue Springs, Mo., three grandchildren; and one sister, Hattie Isaacson, Garnett, Kan.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cowan-Edwards Yorgenson Chapel with the Rev. Charles Bennett officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Cemetery following the services. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time prior to the services.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
