Looking for info on John Waugh Clendenin and his wife Mary E. (Meigs) Clendenin who moved to Wichita, Sedgwick Co., KS in September 1900 per Biographical Annals of Cumberland Co., PA.
John Waugh Clendenin was born 8 April 1853, son of John and Susan (Swiler) Clendenin of Cumberland Co., PA. He moved west in 1877. He married Mary E. Meigs of Arkansas City, KS on 24 December 1886. He was in the banking business in Anthony, KS and moved to Wichita in Sept 1900 and continued in banking. He was a Congregationalist.
Can anyone give me the names/address of Congregationalist churches in Wichita around 1900? Is there a city directory for Wichita in that time period? Any searchable indexes for deaths/wills?
In 1900 John Clendenin did not have any children, according to the biographical annuls mentioned earlier, BUT he supposedly had the Clendenin family bible from the 1700s. Would love to find its disposition.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
