Hello. Searching for any information on my grandfather JOHN LOGAN WILSON B. 11 OCT 1885 IN ELK CITY, KS D. 2 NOV 1975 IN CANEY KS. He married my grandmother VIOLA REBECCA FARRIS B. 16 JUN 1907 IN ELK CITY, KS D. 14 OCT 1974 IN HAVANA, KS MONTGOMERY COUNTY. THEY WERE MARRIED IN HOWARD, KS ON 28 DEC 1925. BOTH ARE BURIED IN THE HAVANA , KS CEMETERY, AS SO IS MY FATHER. HIS TOMBSTONE READS "DICK WILSON" instead of Allison DICK WILSON, for he went by his middle name.
The reason I have no information on my grandfather is because he did not marry my grandmother until he was 40 years old and she was only 18. So when they gave birth to their first child my Aunt Evelyn he was 44 and their second child was a girl Alice Adeline, and when he was around 50 they had their last child a son ALLISON DICK WILSON B 11 JAN 1937 D. 5 MAR 1982( my father). So none of the children knew of their Aunts or Uncles cause , John LOGAN WILSON, was the baby of the family, so his brothers and sisters were all most of them dead by that time. I am desparate on finding out who his siblings were. I do know who my great grandfather was JESSE M. WILSON B 27 MAR 1842 GIBSON CO. INDIANA D. 24 JUNE 1950 MONTGOMERY CO KS. He married MARY Adeline ALLISON B. 17 AUG DAVIESS CO, INDIANA 1843 D. 27 JAN 1926 MONTGOMERY CO KS. They were married 21 OCT 1866 IN GIBSON CO INDIANA.
My gg grandfather was JAMES WILSON, M.D. B ABT 29 JAN 1809 DIED ???? POSSIBLY IN GIBSON CO INDIANA MARRIED ELIZA EMERSON/EMMERSON.
JAMES WILSON M.D. was the son of JOSHUA WILSON B 18 JUN 1775 D. 11 APR 1839 GIBSON CO INDIANA, and COMFORT MARVEL KNOWLES B. 14 FEB 1790 SUSSEX CO DELAWARE D. 31 DEC 1868. I have all the information I need on the KNOWLES side of our family and some of the FARRIS side, but I am looking for my WILSON side. The last and only bit of information I have is of my gggg grandfather, JOSHUA WILSON , SR WHO MOVED TO N. CAROLINA WHEN HIS SON JOHSHUA(MY GGG GRANDFATHER)WAS JUST A BABE. I have no information on who his wife was or other children or where he was born etc. It is supposed that he died in N. Carolina shortly after moving there. The surname WILSON is of Scotch descent, and we have a crest in my mothers home.
