CHARLES E. RHODES. – Among the eminently substantial and decidedly progressive monetary institutions in Fleming county, Kentucky, the People’s Bank, at Flemingsburg, holds distinctive prestige as one of the most reliable. The bank was organized and incorporated under the laws of the state in 1906, with a capital stock of twenty-five thousand dollars, which was later increased to forty thousand dollars and with an official corps as follows: Dr. J. J. Reynolds, president; Judge D. D. Sousley, vice-president; and C. E. Rhodes, cashier. After the death of Judge Sousley, O. L. Hinton was elected vice-president. Mr. Rhodes has given most efficient service in the capacity as cashier. The board of directors includes, besides the officers, R. W. Darnall, Dr. T. Riblin and H. R. Glasock. The People’s Bank is conducting a splendid and constantly increasing business and its deposits at the present time, in 1911, amount to some two hundred thousand dollars.
