My 5th gr-grandfather, James Atwood, is listed on the 1820 census as having 8 persons in the household. 2 adults and 6 children (although 1 male is listed between the ages of 16 - 25). It also lists 3 foreigners not naturalized. Would the 3 foreigners be part of the 8? Or are they extra, so there are really 11 in the household? Were foreigners counted? Does anyone know?
