Snail Mail: 3383 Hendon Circle, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221. Seek correspondent or contact who may have ties or links to above surnames in BOYLE Co. in period from 1890 to present day. Special interest in any information on 1) James "King" CRABTREE (b. ca 1873 KNOX Co. KY, md 12/26/1890 to Martha Ellen DAVIS (?) in LINCOLN Co. KY, and d. 3/6/1946 in BOYLE Co., KY & buried in Junction City, I believe); 2) Clarinda or Clara CRABTREE BURKETT (b. ca 1876 in KNOX Co. KY, md 12/28/1890 in LINCOLN Co. KY to James BURKETT, b. ca 1863 in KY, d. 6 July 1932 in FAYETTE Co. KY??). CLARA died in FAYETTE Co. KY on 9/5/1932, I believe, but may also be buried in Junction City, BOYLE Co. James CRABTREE & Clara CRABTREE BURKETT had an older sister, Salina Wes CRABTREE LAYER, who was my great-grandmother, who married in 1883 in LINCOLN Co., KY, but moved to DELTA CO. TX in 1898 and died there on 22 July 1927. In KY my LAYER kinfolks were more often known by spelling LAIR. They corresponded with a Sally REED (or REID) in BOYLE Co. KY who was supposed to be related and some of the Texas LAYERS made a pilgrimmage to KY ca 1947 to visit Sally REED, who was living in BOYLE Co. There may also have been a Mahala (or Mahallie) CRABTREE who married a James SPRINKLE(S) at the end of 19th century and lived in BOYLE Co., but I can't find anything on them. James "King" CRABTREE would have settled in BOYLE Co. circa 1900, after the death of his father, John Joshua CRABTREE near Stanford, LINCOLN Co. on 2 February 1899. I presume that the James & Clara BURKETT family's sojurn in BOYLE Co. dates to same period. James "King" CRABTREE had 2 older brothers, George W. CRABTREE and J. Franklin CRABTREE, who moved back to S.E. Kentucky at some time from 1900-1905. George & Franklin both died and were buried in BELL Co., KY. My primary interest in the WREN family is in tracing down Taylor & Polly WREN's son Buford Menifee WREN, who married Mary Elizabeth CRABTREE on 20 May 1883. Buford WREN was b. 10/23/1827 in KY and he md. in LINCOLN Co., KY, but his parents were apparently from a neighboring county in KY. Thanks for any leads on these surnames. Joel Wilkinson
