It has been claimed that when he came to Kentucky from North Carolina in 1812, clergyman William Tapscott (sometimes "Tabscott") spent two years or so in Boyle County, where he established a church that is still standing. Of course, Boyle County was not formed until 1842, nor have I been able to find any evidence of a church, standing or otherwise, with which he was associated. Nevertheless, it is just possible that he did found a church in an area that became part of Boyle County. Does anyoine know anything about a Tapscott-related church in the county or, for that matter, anywhere in Kentucky, preferably with reliable evidence?
