Dixie “Tippy” Bumphus, 62, of Princeton, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at 7:06 a.m. at the University of Louisville Hospital, following a long illness.
Born Dec. 18, 1949, in Caldwell County, a daughter of the late Charles and Rosie Mae Gray Bumphus, she was a member of Shepard Street Baptist Church and retired production worker at Bremner.
Survivors include a son, Mark Bumphus of Princeton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mitzi Bumphus of Princeton and Angel Bumphus and Raiz of Louisville; seven grandchildren, Alexis, Abram, Tayjon, Nicholas, Aija, Uemit and Raijon; two great-grandchildren, Maison and Aiden; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Drs. Walter and Aileen Bumphus of Washington, D.C., and Michael and Nicole Bumphus of Laurel, Md.; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Paula Bumphus of Baltimore, Md., Pamela and Reggie Jordan of Laurel, Md., Dionne O’Neal of Columbus, Ga., and Dianne Bumphus of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 1 p.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. James Brasher officiating.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. (Princeton, Ky.)
