The physical heart beats no more, but the wonderful memories of our loved one will live forever in our hearts.

William W. Jones, 79, husband, father, grandfather, and child of God, earned his heavenly rewards December 15, 2012, at 6:05 a.m. Better known as Bill or “Hoss,” his smile, presence, love, compassion, soft-heartedness and willingness to serve others will be missed.

He worked as a welder and heavy equipment mechanic and was a 50-year member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181. He was an active member of Oaklawn Baptist Church, Paducah, Kentucky. He was a United States Army veteran, and served a tour of duty in Korea.

Bill was born in Princeton, Kentucky, September 12, 1933, to William L. and Mildred Jones.

He died at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Jones of Reidland; one son, Paul Jones of Reidland; brother-in-law, Toby Williams (Carla) of Simpson, Ill., and brother-in-law, Roby Williams (Shirley) of Elizabethtown, Ill. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Andy Roberts, and his grandson, Drew Roberts of Los Angeles; and a number of nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces and great-great-nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lorilee Jones Roberts December 23, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his mother and father of Princeton, Kentucky; his brother, Jimmie Jones; and his sister, Lucretia Jones, Princeton, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Hughes Funeral Home, Paducah, Kentucky, at 1 p.m. Rev. Tommy Williams, former pastor of Oaklawn Baptist Church, and Rev. Royce Dukes, current pastor of Oaklawn Baptist Church, will conduct the services.

Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Princeton.

Friends may call at Hughes Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012, and from 10 a.m. until service time, Thursday, December 20, 2012.
