Louis Gay, 69, of Dawson Springs, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Ind.
Born Sept. 18, 1943, in LeCompte, La., to the late Cleo Bryan and Evie Irene Hanna Gay, he attended Richland Baptist Church and retired from Goodyear Rubber Company after 25 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Peggy Barnes Gay; a daughter, Michelle Hopper of Nashville, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Amanda Capps of Arlington, Tenn.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Martha Ann and Billy Kennedy and Linda Gayle and Sonny Cook, all of Louisiana; two brothers and a sister-in-law, D.B. Gay and Don and Rachel Gay, both of Louisiana; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, Aug. 29, at 11 a.m. at Piney Grove Cemetery in Caldwell County with the Rev. Jim Lantrip officiating.
Burial for Mr. Gay will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery. (Caldwell Co., Ky.)
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or Richland Baptist Church.
