Mae Lewis, 100, of Princeton, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at 2:37 a.m. at Caldwell Medical Center, following a short illness.
Born March 2, 1913, (Lyon Co., Ky.) a daughter of the late David Ernest and Anna Mae Adams Murphy, she was retired from the finishing department at Princeton Hosiery Mill and was a charter member of Northside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett A. Lewis; five brothers, Paul, Felix, Lawrence, Vinson and David E. Murphy Jr.; five sisters, Mayme Hill, Emma Elder, Frances Hanusa, Pat Gresham and Helen Webber; and a granddaughter, Mendi Lewis.
Survivors include seven sons, Garnett W. Lewis of Houston, Texas, Donnie Lewis of Dothan, Ala., Cecil E. Lewis of Richmond, Texas, Dennis Lewis and Kenneth Lewis, both of Princeton, David Lewis of Atlanta, Ga., and Lawrence G. Lewis of Little Rock Ark.; a daughter, Ann Hall of Caldwell County; 24 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m. at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Jeff McCarty officiating.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. (Princeton, Ky.)
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
