Karen Smith, 51, of Princeton, died Saturday, April 19, 2014, at 7:20 p.m. at her home, following a long illness.
Born Sept. 23, 1962, in Caldwell County, a daughter of Charles W. and Dorothy Ilene Peek Pool, she was a member of Southside Baptist Church and a cashier at Hancock’s Neighborhood Market.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Monty Stuart Smith.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Byron and Gail Pool of Princeton; two nephews, Brian and wife Valerie Leathers of Benton, and Chris and wife Rebecca Pool of Princeton; two great nieces; two great nephews; and a great-great nephew.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 22, at 11 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mark Faughn officiating.
Burial will follow in Pool Cemtery. (Caldwell Co., Ky.)
Pallbearers will be Chris Pool, Brian Leathers, Mike Dearing, Roger Peek, Robert Peek and Brandon Stalion.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to Jewish Hospital Transplant Department, 200 Abraham Flexner Way, Louisville, Ky. 40202, in honor of her brother.
