Seeking information on Paris M. Ellison, who was born circa 1826 in Kentucky the son of Thomas & Lucinda (Gresham or Grisson) Ellison. He was living in Calloway County, Kentucky, by 1847 when he enlisted in the United States Army for service in the Mexican War. His wife was Mildred R. Ellison. He served as both Calloway County Court Clerk and Calloway County Circuit Court Clerk. He died circa 1904. Would appreciate any genealogical information on him.

looking for info on a cemetry in Boydsville, somewhere around Bell City I think it might be Methodist. My grandmother's grandparents are supposed to be buried there. The name would be Newton O'Guin I dont know his wife's name. My great grandmothers name is Ada O'Guin Smith. She married Walter Smith. Ada's mother's name was Lizabeth Geurin. A. Jackson 47 y.o. f. NC (this is America Jackson)
S. Jackson 37 y.o. f. KY (unknown)
J.B.E. Jackson 14 y.o. m. (John Benjamin Eziel Jackson, son, my grandfather)
C.W.B. Jackson 12 y.o. m. (Christopher W.B. Jackson, son)
N.M. Jackson 7 y.o. f. (Nancy M. Jackson, daughter)

Below them:
W.D. Wright 18 y.o. m. (believe him to be son-in-law)

This family moved to Dallas County, Missouri about 1858. Both Isaiah and America are married there. Isaiah was listed on the 1840, but not the 1830 Calloway Census. Somehow I think that they linked up to the Robison family of Carroll County, TN earlier, for their son, John, went down to TN and married her there and then returned to KY, had a child and then moved on to MO.

Any HELP here would be greatly appreciated.

To whim it may concern,
I am struggling to gather information about my Fathers' family.
My Grandfather was Hester Kendall and my Grandmother was Ola Miller-Kendall, they had five children, my Father Fred Kendall, David, Alice,Katherine and Margaret.
All I have been able to gather to this point is that they were of Native American lineage, both grandparents lived and passed away in Murray Kentucky and they were first cousins
Their daughter Margaret still resides in Murray with her husband Lloyd Sills and they had two children, Martha and James. David and his wife Rosey are both passed away and lived in Champaign Ill. and had ten children, David Gene,Kathy, Hazel,Diane, Richard, Steve, Royce, Faye, Willy ( who is passed away) and( I believe) Terry. Alice I believe still resides in Murray with her husband R.L. ( last name unknown ) and their children were Caroline, Kieth and Richard.
At this point my search is primarily for great Grandparents, great-great Grandparents and so on. Any connectionsinformation and the like would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Mildred Miller Putnam, 92, of Huron, OH, passed away peacefully, under Hospice care, on February 13, 2008. Known to many as "Millie", she was born in New Providence, KY on February 26, 1915. She graduated from Murray State University in Kentucky in 1935, and was a high school home economics, English and music teacher before marrying Loren "Puttie" Putnam in 1940. Millie made a strong contribution to Puttie's career as a professor at the Ohio State University, and Director of the OSU Franz Theodore Stone Laboratory at Put-In-Bay, South Bass Island, OH. She was a member of the OSU University Women's Club, the Worthington Ohio Historical Society, and the Worthington Women's Club. She also helped for years with "Buckeye Bargains". She was also an active member and supporter of the Presbyterian Church, and played in the bell choir. She loved bridge, and helping many of Puttie's graduate students and their children. In retirement, Millie and Puttie enjoyed travel and spending many summers on Lake Erie without having to work! She also enjoyed living in Fort Collins, CO for over 12 years, where she was close to son, Steve and his wife, Judith. In July of 2007, Millie, Steve and Judith relocated to Huron, OH. Millie enjoyed being back by the "Lake", and seeing the familiar sights in this area. She is survived by her son, Steve Putnam and his wife, Judith of Huron, OH. Private service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to New Life Hospice of Lorain, 5255 N. I have a letter that was written for one of my ancestors: Elizabeth WATKINS.

Here is the text of the letter:

This is to certify that Elizabeth WATKINS is an acceptable member of the M. E. Church South, in full fellowship with the Church at Bethel Calloway County KY. Murray Circut Paris District Memphis Conference and as such is recommened by The Society at Bethal Church. Aug 25, 1866.

My questions:

Where is these churches located?
Are there any surving records from these churches?
If so, where are the records located?

Also the writer of the letter has a first name of J?no, I am not sure and as I do not have access to a scanner I can not scan it into an image file. I am also not sure, but I think that it was signed by the Pastor of the church she attended. I would like any and all help!

1) William F. b 1833 Calloway Co, md Ethelinda Owens; 2) Barnett M. or W. b 1830 Calloway Co, md Elizabeth; 3) David Felix b 1839 Calloway Co, md Ann; 4) Mary A. b 1842, Calloway Co; 5) Sarah E. 1847 Calloway Co; 6) Thomas b 1850 Calloway Co; 7) Martha J. b 1838 Calloway Co.
Son William moved fam to Stoddard Co MO and stayed there.
Son Barnett also moved to Stoddard Co Mo and apparently stayed there, he had at least two daus Sarah 1855 and Julia 1869. On the 1870 Stoddard Co MO census Barnetts mother was living with them.
Son David Felix moved his family to Stoddard Co MO and stayed there. He had ch: Mary E. 1862; Emeline 1865; William Felix Presley 1883; and Martha E.

I am still looking for anyone researching the above family names. Here is a listing of names found in Calloway Co., KY (mostly Dist 2. and than Murray) during 1830-1870 census.
Joseph BRIMM believe his wife's name was Mary BRIMM.

Cicero BRIMM lives with Mary BRIMM in 1850 age 17. Lives with OUTLANDS 1860 census, than 1870 lives with Frances, Mary (27), another Mary E., and Elizabeth. Cicero maybe his middle name not his first. My Greatgrandfather Elias Cicero, went by Cicero.

E. L. BRIMM (first name may have been Alexander though) lives with Mary BRIMM on 1850 census.

Frances (female) lives with Mary on 1850, unfound on 1860, than w/ Cicero on 1870, not found on any later census as of yet.

Mary and Mary E., these are two different women and may have two different father's, both living with Mary BRIMM (40)on 1850 census. Unable to find the first Mary on 1860 but Mary E. age 13 is living with my GreatGreatgrandparents James Richard BRIMM and Mary A F SMITH. On the 1870 census she is livng with Cicero BRIMM.

MARY E. BRIMM could be a daughter of a previous marriage of my Greatgrandfather James Richard BRIMM, who I just found out married Cynthia BRUNSON 26 Feb 1846. Or she could be the daughter of NATHANIEL BRIMM (unable to find him on any census or land record) who married Louisa COCKE 2 Feb 1843. Both of these marriages are listed in records as BRINN but they s/b listed as BRIMM or BRIM.

Any and all informtion on James Richard BRIMM (my GGreatgrandfather)and any of the BRIMM/BRIM names list above would be greatly appreciated. My GGreatgrandfather James R. (who may have gone by his middle name Richard,alot) married Mary A F(rances) SMITH abt 1850, she was the daughter of Elias W(illiam?)SMITH and Piety BIGGS. I have alot of information about my SMITH line and would love to exchange information on any of the above family Surname List lines

Pretty obvious Mary Ann is not Freeland's wife by the ages of the other children. The 12 year old Freeland ended up in Blount County AL as Phelan Tidwell in the 1880 census, and died in 1933.

Is there a book listing people buried in the McDaniel Cemetery? I'm looking for the following: A S McDaniel born about 1825 Virginia; Wm Franklin McDaniel born about 1853 Kentucky; Sally Parla? McDaniel born about 1855 Kentucky. I last find them on the 1870 census in Wadesborough Calloway Co with their wife/mother Rachael Ogden McDaniel. On the 1900 census Rachael (White) states she had 2 children and they are both dead. So I am assuming that the father and both children died between 1870 and 1875 when Rachael remarried.

Our quilt mystery project involves the fictional account of an Alaskan women pioneer who came to Fairbanks, Alaska in June 1920. In the project, Elspeth Martha Walker (b. 1901 Calloway county, Kentucky), received some teacher or nursing education before she came north.

This is a fictional account, however we would like to base it on real sources.

Joseph BUTTERWORTH, resident of Calloway County, KY, was in War of 1812 (b. 1781 Va); lived in Sumner and Henry Co. Tenn with wife Endotria (Doshia); Susan E. H. Butterworth, b. VA in 1804; married Wiley E. JONES Jr. in 1827 in Sumner County Tenn; lived in Henry County until 1853 when the entire family (13 children) moved to Johnson County, Texas. I understand the older Butterworth family who had also lived in Henry County (1850 census), did not go to Texas with them but instead returned to Calloway County KY, lived with a Jones family,& he died before 1860. Any help out there? Thank you.

Can anyone give me directions/location for Sinking Springs Cemetery? I think it is somewhere near Murray but so far I have not been able to find a more difinitive location mentioned anywhere. I am attempting to find burial site for my 3G grandfather Marcellus Cook (1790-1861) and wife Misheal (sp?) Rosson (1798-1843). He was the son of John Miller and Nancy B. Williams, and husband of Mattie A. Lassiter. He was a member of the Lower House of the Kentucky State Legislature 1878-81 & 1888-89, and member of the Upper House of the Kentucky State Legislature 1892-95.

Who were his parents? He was born in Calloway county, Ky 1827. Cannot find a clue...............please help. He married Emaline Arcadia 1847, possibly in Graves county.
