MANSFIELD: Thelma L. (Hicks) King, 89, of Mansfield, Ohio (Richland County) died July 10, 2014.
Born February 16, 1925 in Olive Hill, KY, she was the daughter of Everett and Gertie (P'Simer) Hicks.
A wonderful and kind lady,
Thelma always took care of her eleven younger siblings. She always had a loving way about her.
After graduating high school, Thelma attended Maryland Business College.
She went to work for Mansfield Tire as a Steno Clerk and retired after 26 years of service. In her free time, she enjoyed time with her family at reunions and cookouts and the great company and food that came along with them!
A special thank you to her niece, Sandy Brummage and her caregiver, Sharon Cutright, for their wonderful and loving care.
Surviving are her step-son, Louis E. (Carolyn) King of Crestline, Ohio and their children and grandchildren; brothers, Ivan (Jewell) Hicks, Gary (Debbie) Hicks, and Dale Lee (Connie) Hicks, all of Olive Hill, KY; sisters, Sharon Cutright of Mansfield, Ohio, Bonnie Bond of Shelby, and Reta Lynn (JoeE) Bond of Olive Hill, KY; and 36 nieces and nephews.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John King; brothers, Junior, Cleo, and Gene Hicks; and sisters, Wanda Kegley and Carla Sue Bond.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario, OH.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Glenn Phillips, will be Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
