Thomas Cooley, a retired Lewis County timber worker and
clay miner died Monday, August 28, 1978 in his home in
Vanceburg, Ky. His death was attributed to cardiac arrest.
He was 82. Services were conducted in the Laurel Point
Church, and burial was in the Morgan Cemetary.
Mr. Cooley was a native of Olive Hill and son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Silas Coooley. He was born august 16, 1896.
His wife Lullie Smith Cooley died in 1974. He is survived by four sons and six daughters who are
Theodore and Ivan Cooley, Bucyrus, OH; Roscoe and Raymond Cooley Vanceburg,KY; Dorothy Applegate and Betty Butler of Nevada, Oh; Fairleen Stander of Bucyrus, OH; Norma Hardymon of Sycamore, OH; Erie Smith of Maysville,KY; and Glendawene Wilson of Vanceburg.
He also leaves three brothers Jim Cooley of Olive Hill, Melvin Cooley of Garrison, Harlan Cooley of Maysville, Ky and three sisters Annie Adams and Myrtle Cooley of Lewis county, and Delia Carver of Bucyrus; 62 grandchildren and 69 great-grandchildren.
