According to Kozee's 'Early Families of Eastern and Southeastern Kentucky'; which details the Kozee/Keezee history back to Richard Keezee b. cir 1760; - Jesse Keezee, farmer; b. in Virginia, 1803, and d. in Carter Co., Ky. He m., first, in Floyd County, August 8, 1821, Sarah Elizabeth Kitchen, b. in Greenbrier Co., VA, 1803 and d. in Carter Co., Feb 4, 1852, d/of James Kitchen, Revolutionary War Soldier, and his wife, Jane (Patterson) Kitchen; and m., secondly, in Carter Co., Jan 31, 1856, Nancy Ward.

Jesse and Sarah Elizabeth Kitchen Keezee had the following children:
