It has been a very long time since I have searched for my ever so great-grandfather Allison Owens. Here is what is known:
B. About 1860 in presumably Clinton Co., to Benjamin Dabney and America McComas Dabney.
Married Nancy Artemesia Sullivan about 1880.
Killed his wife with an ax October 30, 1892 in Alpha Post Office, Clinton, Ky.
Now, here is where he falls completely off the earth. I cannot find any trial records, prison records, jail records, census records, death records, or any thing what so ever. I'm pretty sure he never got out of jail. Two family stories conflict with each other. 1. His father, being extremely prominent in Clinton Co. was able to get him into an asylum instead of jail. In that case, the closest one would have been in Louisville. 2. The second rumor was that he was placed into prison at Morgantown, Ky. All I want to know is where he is buried.
