I am still hoping that someone out there has some information regarding the Williams family that lived in Cumberland Co, Ky and Green County before that.
I know there were several Williams families. Surely some of them were related to Ezekiel Williams, his wife Margaret Thornton Williams, or his son Samuel Ezekiel Williams or possibly his father Thomas Williams.
Samuel Ezekiel married Mary Graham and they lived in Cumberland and started their family there. This would have been in 1815. Then moved to Missouri in 1834.
Ezekiel was in the "Cornstalk Militia" -Capt. of the 16th Reg. of Green Co. in 1799 and Capt. of 46th Reg. Cumberland Co. in 1804. He sold two tracts of land in 1805 and came to St. Louis.
While living in Cumberland Co. he was friends with a man named Hannaniah Lincoln. In 1799 he helped put up a bond for Mr. Lincoln to become sheriff. This is all I know about "Zeke" in Cumberland . If anyone can help please e-mail. Thanks. Sandy
