I am looking for any information regarding DORA, who would be my 2nd Great Grandmother. She was married to GEORGE WRIGHT, my 2nd Great Grandfather. I can't find any solid information or documents regarding Dora's birth, marriage or death, due to the fact that I have been unable to lock down any dates or a middle, maiden or last name. I see different documents but they seem to have different facts, but still no proof of birth, marriage or a maiden name. There have been serveral hints, including Dora Cook, Dora Lawson, Dora Shootman, Dora Wright.
George married three times (I think?): DORA, ROSA/ROSIE Cundif(f)and GLADYS. The 1900 Census lists Dora's children with George as Myrtie [Myrtis], Luther, Minnie Lee, Etta [Ettie, Hettie] Mae, Wm. Haskins, Sellie, Emma J. [my Great Grandmother] and John D., which I have corroborated with my Grandmother (Kate Larkins) so I know she is the one I am looking for. In the 1900 Census, she lived in COLE CAMP, CUMBERLAND, KY and, in the 1910 Census, she lived in GLENS FORK, ADAIR, KY. George Wright had remarried by 1919, though, and a Dora Wright I found had died in 1912.
My grandmother didn't know her mother Emma or grandmother Dora so that is why I am researching them: I would like to claim some history on our female side of the family!
Any help, advice, leads or comments would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
P.S. What's the deal with the Censuses having different dates, i.e, a person in the 1900 Census is, say, 0 years old and in the 1910 Census that same person is 7 or 8? Did the Census takers guestimate or what?
